Half Basketball Court

Status

Completed

Location

Khancoban, NSW.

Completion

December 2022

Funding, in the amount if $51 667, for this project was received in the form of a grant from the 'Stronger Countries Community Fund' put in place by the NSW Government.

Special thanks to Louise Warrett and Lesley Barlee, for submitting the application for the grant and getting this project underway.

Concrete Texture

Stage 1: Concreting

Stage one of the project included laying down concrete for the half basketball court. This was completed by Harry's Concreting in Corryong VIC.

There were a few setbacks during this stage due to poor weather which pushed the project back further than expected.

Basketball Hoop

Stage 2: The Hoop

The basketball hoop with backboard was purchased from Rebel Sport in Albury, along with some basketballs to be left at the court. The hoop was then erected and secured by the local Snowy Valley Council team.

Some extra basketballs were generously donated by Khancoban Post Office to ensure the courts are accessible and ready to use.

Walking

Stage 3: Painting

The lines on the half court were organised to be painted by Snowy Mountains Painting who subcontracted for this to be completed.

With the lines now painted the half basketball court is complete. We are pleased to have had this project finalised in time for the Christmas holidays and to see the local families of Khancoban utilising it already and having fun.
